This election is a golden opportunity we simply cannot squander the future of our country.
We are shortly going to be getting leaflets through our letterboxes.
Don't passively reach down and pick the FF/FG/Lab/SF/ULA leaflet off the mat take a skim through it and throw it in the bin along with the Christmas Tesco offers.

Instead burst out through your front door and run after the party activist who is doing his/her rounds and DEMAND that they explain to you how their party plans to pull the country out of the economic crisis - how they plan to reform our society, how they plan to get it moving again, growing again, get young people working again, get the people who are emigrating in droves to have confidence in this country as a future location to live and rear their children.

SCREAM and ROAR at them if you must. Make a scene. Make them turn white with fear.

Because as far as I can see FF are a spent force who are not going to bother canvassing in many areas for fear of being pitchforked and lynched.

FG and Lab think they have this election sown -

FG think we will be good little peasants and accept the massive cuts while the billy clubs will keep us in line.

Labour think we were only destined to hold out our bowls for the gruel.

They will take control of the oak panelled offices and they will get the Mercs and the state pensions vacated by FF and they will tell us to accept our lot.

SF neo-gombeens are wrapping the green flag around them and talking guff hoping to crowd out better candidates who should be rushing to fill the vacuum of power in this country.

The brightest, the most talented, our entrepreneurs must be at the front line of reform, they should be the people taking this country and our economy by the scruff of it's neck and getting on with growing our economy again, encouraging inward and foreign investment and making this country a place to do business, to work and to live.

Our society is broken from top to bottom - our legal system is for a Victorian age, the Catholic Church is a carrion crow feeding on a rotten corpse, our banks are exposed as Shylocks, our political class are ignorant gombeens every last one and our media are glove puppets of the rich and powerful.

We need to sweep them away and create a new constitution and reform our entire society from top to bottom.

We cannot allow the vacuum to be filled be extremists, moonbat lunatics and freaks.

We the citizens must taken control because we work, live and want a future for the generations after us.

It's not good enough for the FF Tweedledum to be replaced by the FG/Labour/SF/Socalist Tweedledee.

WE NEED A NEW DEMOCRATIC REVOLUTION!

So the next time some randomer comes around, I'm going to demand that if FF 'so and so' wants my vote, then he is going to have to get down to my doorstep himself.....which, ironically enough, will see him leave with the mother and father of a beating..

Just because someone has decided to give up their free time to help canvase for a party dosent mean they deserve abuse on the street.
They deserve to be treated with a bit of respect the same as everyone else:rolleyes:

By all means interrogate the candidate, they should be happy to answer your one hundred and one questions

A canvasser is a volunteer. I'll ask questions but I won't be roaring or turning anyone white with fear.
    Treat them with respect OP

Ask any question you like or even ignore them but they are not there to take abuse

You say you want a democratic revolution. The canvassers are out trying to influence voters for their parties. Are you doing anything for democracy?

Are you doing anything for democracy?

    Democracy has failed this country!

Over recent months, the anti-democratic behaviour of FF has become very disturbing. This is manifest by its desire to delay the overdue by-elections and, most recently, by the desire to avoid debating the EU/IMF bailout in the national parliament.

Has Fianna Fáil become a de facto fascist party?

This article describes the warning signs of fascism. We can several of these signs, the less florid ones, in recent FF behaviour.
    http://www.anarkismo.net/article/1068

Below are some of the features of modern fascism that can be discerned in FF behaviour. Bear in mind that modern fascists tend to be fairly subtle and must appear to be democratic because the overt fascism of the '30's would not be tolerated. But it is fascism nonetheless.

    1. Delaying elections
    2. Undermining parliament
    3. Appeals to nationalism
    4. Secrecy
    5. Glorification of military 'achievements'
    6. Shielding of corporations
    7. Control of mass media
    8. Disdain for intellectuals
    9. Corruption unchecked

So how can the people of this country do anything for democracy if democracy is not being produced in our politics.

And your answer is to scream at canvassers.
    From parties and for independents

Why don't you give up your spare time on dark evenings, find a candidate you believe in or even run yourself and remember, you told everyone to roar at anyone on the doorstep

Depends on what party or candidate they've chosen to canvass for.

If they associate themselves with low-lifes then that's their choice.

But maybe read their policy documents first, rather than just going off on an unimformed angry rant.:)

This isn't the blog-style rant forum. People who read stickied warnings in the forum already know that. Also, if you want to advocate violence against anyone, do it somewhere else. Like a blog.
