This may seem a small issue with some peoples pipes bursting. Ive a small problem with my daughters radiator in her bedroom the left hand side is warm while the right hand side is hot from top to bottom all the rest of the rads are ok. I have the return side turned down to approx half closed and the flow side open all the way.

Have you bled the radiator? If not do so. Turn your heating off then open the valve at the top of the rad and see if any air comes out, if it does wait until water starts to come out the tighten the valve up. Now switch your heating on and see what happens.

Rads have been bled, but one thing on a differant note is that every second day I have to bleed my sons rad.

What type of heating system do you have? Oil fired, stove.....???

    Its an oil fired system

In that case I think your system should be a pressurised one. When you bleed the rad are you re-pressurising the system? Find the pressure gauge and see what pressure reads.

Seems strange that you are having to bleed a rad every two days. Anyway, turn off all other rads in the house, and see if this one then heats up fully. If it does, then turning down the return to maybe half a turn only might cure it. How far is the rad from the boiler?

I turned down all the rads except the problem one and let it heat up and bled it and then opened up the rest of the rads and all is good. Happy days. Thanks a mill guys for all the advice

you may find that will only work for a short time, if so, your system is likely dirty and gunged up, bleeding the radiator every few days normally means the system has been oxidising and expanding. Its not air coming out of the radiator its a gas and your system will be rusting internally so will need powerflushed to restore the full efficiency of your heating.

    Is that a big job?

good days work but everything done from the boiler/pump usually so no need to lift down rads etc. makes a hell of a difference to the heating overall
