Just saw this listed for Friday evening...
This is the incredible story of one Irish family whose life portrays the history of wrestling since the 1950’s. Possibly Ireland’s most famous sportsperson of the 21st century is WWE’s wrestling superstar “Finlay”. This is the amazing international story of his County Antrim family - The Fit Finlays

Should be interesting. The first airing is Friday and it will be repeated next Thursday (9th) at 8 pm.

Seriously? Even Sheamus would be better known internationally, not to mention people like Padraig Harrington for starters.

Same as, it's great to see more of an in-depth look at his early career instead of a few pictures and short dialogue. My missus reckons he was a looker too.

I would have liked to have seen a bit more in-ring stuff, but that's probably too costly for Setanta.
Still, it was great to see a documentary on a wrestler which doesn't end with him being completely ****ed from drug use and then whining about conscious choices he made himself.

If the WWE want people to stand up for them, then the best thing they could do is pimp this show.

Definitely Terry, hopefully they'll keep him for years to come, he has a lot to offer them. I had missed his WCW years (had lost interest due to lack of viewing options) so was good to see and hear of some of his experiences, but agree it would have been nice for more ring action. I guess we wouldn't have seen the real Finlay though if most of the program concentrated on that though.

Any chance he might be the Raw GM?:D

I thought it was very good too and I liked the fact they didn't treat wrestling like a big joke as a lot of documentaries tend to do. Finlay came across as a cool, humble guy. What are the chances of his son being a third generation wrestler I wonder? Pretty good I'd say.

this was excellent for 3/4, the God segment dragged it down, great to see old footage and the interview with Johnny Howard brought me back to my childhood of going to see these guys wrestle in the Stella/Oscar cinema the Nuremore and Cabra Castle.Dave Finlay was the most hated bad guy when he wrestled in Carrickmacross.I particularly recall Howard taking on Oddjob from Goldfinger in Cabra

Yeah watched the documentary thought it was very good, breaking 100's of people's thumb:eek: . The god part was annoying but I guess you can’t criticise people too much for having faith. I would have liked more in ring stuff especially for Germany and Japan. In general I thought it was very good.

Thought it was kind of bad order that they kept filming when he found out that Welsh lad that gave his start died. It was obvious before he started crying that he was very upset but sure I suppose any film maker would keep on it.

You missed it over the weekend they were showing it for free on the channel. I would check this weeks listing on Setanta Ireland to see if they show it over the week again

I watched it on Thursday (I think it was Thursday anyway!) and thought it was brilliant.
Are there any similar documentaries about other wrestlers?

Someone should make an Orig Williams documentary.

Agree with the above that the God stuff brought it down.
