I've read conlicting reports on here about whether or not I could buy electronics from Amazon, and put it to the test this evening by trying to buy
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001FA05YU/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=11T0NH0DYF1227XXAGDT&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=219600407&pf_rd_i=468294

PURE evoke flow radio from them - but it seems they are not delivering to Rep of Ireland. Now - it appears the difference between buying it from Amazon and say peats.ie is in the region of 60 euro. This is a lot of money when I'm trying to stay within budget for a Xmas present. Anyone know a way round this (my UK based relatives will be laden down on their trip home) or any other retailer that might be offering a better deal on this? Any help appreciated.

Others here have been successful in asking Amazon - and I know this is an Amazon sale, not a marketplace seller - why they won't deliver a certain item when Amazon's own terms and conditions say they will. I've done it myself. Have you tried that? It could just be an oversight on Amazon's part.

Theres regulations with some internet radio's ,you should ask on the radio forum.
Sometimes you can't get stations on certain radios here ,because of your i.p address. Maybe thats why amazon won't ship it here.

EDIT: I bought mine from this site ,http://www.homevisionuk.com/
    Very reliable.

I see there is a disclaimer on that Amazon page that says the radio is configured for UK and may not work outside of there. Perhaps that's why they won't ship it, because they don't want to deal with the inevitable returns.

    Look at http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=67750953

It seems the lads at Richersounds can source one for ye. A lot of boardsies have gotten stuff from Richersounds, so it may be something to look into?

Hi jor el! Our paths cross again! I saw that - but that configuration seems to apply to DAB configurations - and as such would not be an issue. No sign of Digital radio being available in these parts for the foreseeable future! Its the Internet radio thats the selling point, and I've been into their 'lounge' and seem to have no problem picking up these radio stations on laptop.
Anyway - have just been onto Amazon - and they claim its a restriction on shipping hazardous item ('' lead or something'') in the post to Ireland!?! I dont know - but I'll keep trying, couple of other boardsies have suggested another couple of sites. Thanks for your time!

Hi all - Here is a copy of the reply from Amazon - which is basically what I was told over the phone.

    "Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

Apologies that the PURE EVOKE Flow Portable Digital, FM & Internet Radio cannot be shipped to Ireland.

As aforementioned this is usually due to some form of hazardous material being in the product and for security and legislative reasons we cannot ship the item.

I have highlighted this issue with out product team and they will get back to me in 3-4 days. I can email you if there's any change in relation to this item.

    Apologies for the inconvenience."

All very strange ... anyway I'm trying the other 2 sites suggested and also toying with the idea of having Amazon deliver to London and have them posted on from there. Meanwhile - off this laptop for a while!! Thanks again Boardsies for yer help and suggestions.

Would this be an option. http://www.deliverme.ie/ €20 for delivery to an NI address and then they ship it on from there or you can collect it.

You could try "your address" followed by Postcode: BT1 1AA. followed by: United Kingdom See: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055498106

I used it last night for a low value item that I bought from an Amazon merchant who would not ship to Ireland. Got an email today saying it was dispatched so we'll see what happens.

Just wondering, will Amazon deliver a laptop to Ireland?
