With the snow at night its a good bit brighter out. why is this? is it the street lights refelecting off the snow on the ground and cloud cover? it makes the place kind or eerie

I was wondering this myself. Very strange when you're outwalking

    Hope someone has the answer

It's moonlight and streetlight reflecting off the snow.

Even the light from the stars seems to make it a bit brighter out with the snow.

The snow reflects the light, there are plenty of lights on at night and even far away lights are picked up which makes it brighter when the snow is out.

This is what causes cooling too, the snow reflects the light while a dark colour absorbs the light.
