12 year old learning guitar - good guitar songs

Hi,

I have a 12 year old niece who has been getting guitar lesson for over 6 months now and is enjoying it. For Chistmas she is getting some accessories like seat & stand, guitar straps etc

She did say to me that they learn some standard old songs for guitar at present.

COULD Anyone recommend a guitar book for a 12 year old that they could read easily and learn some nice tunes, both old and modern...

McCullough Piggots on Sth William St in Dublin sell 3 chord song books.
Modern songs and older ones too.

Probably more our generation then the current one but they have loads:)
