Will an '07 S3 hold its value stronger than a similar 08 due to the changes in taxation between the two years? I believe an 07 is €640 p/a and the 08 is €2100 p/a. Looking at picking one up, I currently live in the North but expect circumstances to change in the next 12/18 months with a move across the border. Any thoughts…

Any thoughts if an 07 S3 would be a good car to do this with?

You've got your figures wrong.

08' S3 is 1050 per year to tax, and that's only one that was regged after July.

Good point well made sir, so only €400ish per year less.

Thinking come 2012 or so the 07 might appeal more.
