Hey, i'm getting pretty sick of this ice covering my windscreen every morning.

Can anyone tell me if those car covers or windscreen covers stop the buildup of ice on your windscreen?

I spotted one on a car on my way to work this morning and it would be very handy if it worked.

    Newspaper?

As above, newspaper works a treat. Leave your wipers stuck in the vertical position and trap some sheets from a broadsheet newspaper underneath. Keeps it ice-free for the morning after.

Cheers for the replies lads but i've seen newspapers getting stuck to windscreens around the estate twice lately.

€2 yoke from tescos will do the job i reckon :)

Black bin bag. Been using them for years.
Just slit them down the long edges and they open up long enough to cover your windscreen, and can be tucked inside and held by the closed doors.
Tip here, open a back door (or the boot for 2 door vehicles), to relieve the air pressure caused when closing the front doors, or you will have fun with 'blowback'.

I've a windscreen cover, think my dad picked it up in M&S during a sale, goes inside for reflecting sun, and outside for ice. My car had snow/ice from Sat-Monday morning, and when I took off the cover, that part of the windscreen was perfect. I've got it on again the last few days, so it'll protect my windscreen at the moment.

+1 on the blowback, I kept getting that
