Looking for new laptop?

Well my dell laptop is now 5 years old and starting to show its age, Im looking for a new laptop around €1000 that has 17" screen, bluray player, 1920x1080p res, hdmi out, would like at least 1gb for the grapics card and 4gb raw.
The ones I've been looking at atm are the sony viao range and dell xps 17 but the dells charge extra for the bluray drives. any suggestions?

This is the model i was thinking of getting : Vaio F Series but im wondering if more ram & an i7 would be worth spending more on.

Unfortunately this requirement doesnt mean half as much anymore when it comes to GPU performance. Questions that need asking: Are you a hardcore gamer? What games do you plan to play? What details do you expect? Whats your minimum fps?

I usually play games on my consoles so id be okay with v-synched 30fps @ 720p res, my main use of the pc would be bluray and 1080p media playback and some light use of photoshop and internet browsing. Id probably pick um some stuff i couldnt get on my ps3 like mass effect 1&2 + fable 3.

Also im swaying towards the xps17 but i've heard the screen is diabolical .

anyone have any experiance with an xps17, the only thing thats preventing me buying is I've heard the screen is bad?
