    Hey folks,
we have a Wii and want to connect it to the net. Do we need Eircom broadband? Iv tried with my 3 internet thing and i cant get it to work. I plugged it into the USB ports at the back but it cant find anything. Is it compatible with these broadbands?
    Thanks

You need to use Internet Connection Sharing on your PC.

I don't know how computer-literate you are but just in case and to save you a lot of hassle I would make sure you first have a wireless adapter installed on your pc or you have a laptop with inbuilt wireless.

Without this the above approach will not work.

The Wii is really only set up for wireless so in effect you would be connecting to the internet through your PC or laptop.
To do this you need wireless capabality on both the wii (built-in) and the computer.

2 ways to connect to the internet: wireless and wired. for wireless you need a wireless router in your house. for wired you need a USB to LAN (Ethernet) adaptor.

I have a huawei d100 router to connect my wii.

I am sure its a decidedly average thing but it works for what I need it to.

well, i googled it a bit and it seems to be compatible with the wii, but somebody mentioned it switches itself off from time to time. is that true?
