Anyone recommend somewhere to get a car battery replaced? have mine 3 years and had a few slow starts due to the cold weather recently. Gonna get it checked out and replaced before the thing dies on me.

Been told Halfords are 'crap' (always overpriced IMO) Advance pitstop are 'dear' and dont go near the main garages.

Who deserves the business? :) ta

Henry street garage have a few re-conditioned batteries going cheap.
Was in their last week as I had starter probs.

Near Corner Flag, Old Stand pubs.

I'm told Limerick Brakes are the cheapest - they are near to Gleesons sports there near the top of William Street

Liimerick brakes are in cathedral Place,

get 1 with a 2 year guarantee , a " cheap " battery may work out the dearest in the long run especially if you intend holding on to the car for some time.

also Victory tyres in Lelia street.

Could be done in theory..... But why risk it to save a few quid when it could leave you stranded ?

+1 on Limerick Brakes (They are across from the side door of the Horse and Hound and down a bit)

Limerick brakes are always fair enough with their prices in fairness, remember getting a couple of bulbs off them a few years ago for free cause yer man didnt have any change and didnt want me to bother to go get some in the shop.

    Those bulbs were E3

    Same ones in Maplan......E12

I shopped around for a battery last weekend found the motor factors on Henry Street the cheapest. They were the only one stocking the 500cca rated one I was after. 65 for the battery 2 year warranty.

I guess if it was me and Limerick brakes gave me a couple of bulbs for free then next time I need a car part I'd know who deserves the business.
