    Have a problem!

Both my dogs are in a run most of the day but in the last week or so, as soon as they are let out, they run out the garden and into the neighbours back yard. The house is occupied by a bunch of young fellahs who are just leaving bags of rubbish in their back yard, the dogs are tearing the rubbish bags open. Had a similar problem with a previous tenant who was doing the same thing, he was a beaut had a skippo bag full of rubbish, so I got onto the litter warden. But I don't want top do that again.

I want to sort the dog problem, was thinking of leaving some food laced with Tabasco sauce out by the rubbish for them. Has anyone tried this because its got my recall ****ed at the moment.

    Electric fences aren't an option.

    First you ring litter Warden,

then they ring the dog Warden,

they get told to clean up (maybe)

you get your dogs taken because you cant control them.

You can only control whats yours deeks. Pain in the ass I know but as soon as I read I thought why are the dogs been allowed run in next door.
Simple fix you only let them out when exercising them or you fence the garden. Job done. To me no other solutions here.
Don't draw neighbours on you - we all have enough troubles come our way we can't avoid but in this case you got to stop it at sourse.

If there were no bags in there odds are they'll still run in. When I leave the dogs out 1 of the 1st things they do is take a crap so your dogs could very quickly cause you a problem if you see where I'm going...
I'd be more worried Bout the draw of rats to the rubbish than the dogs...

I can control my dogs up to a point and that's when their head is inside in a bag of rubbish eating leftovers.

I probably will have to contact the litter warden and probably the their landlord. This is the second times he's let his house out to a bunch of dirt bags who can't dispose of their rubbish properly.

As for the dog warden coming I'm not worried about that.

I don't let the dogs out at all, I left them out for 2 minutes last night while I went in to get their bowls. I'm not careless about my dogs at all.

Its fair frustrating when dogs you've put a lot of time into become headless when they're being called, because their feasting on a bag of rubbish.

The rubbish will have to be addressed by the landlord his tenants and the litter warden, but I just want to stop the dogs tearing of first.

Be very careful with your dogs there, a fella nearby had 2 dogs that got lepto like this and died within 2 days of each other. Their neighbour was piling up bag fulls or rubbish next door and the rats were coming in around his dogs food bowls! Report these f**kers to the council asap if i was u! They were lazy scumbags who had nothing but their dole from week to week so they couldnt do feck all about it either!

When I open the kennel door I insist that the springers do not rush out. I call each of them by name. This is done by using the sit command. When the dog is outside the kennel I immediately call him to heel. This means that the dogs are under control at all times.I then walk the dogs too the dung heap where they can do their business. All this is achieved by using the three basic commands. Recall, sit and heel. If you ensure that your dog obeys all of these commands you should be able to fix your problem. You must try to fix this now because the dogs are getting into a habit of ignoring you and you would be surprised how much this could escalate into a once sound well trained dog becoming uncontrollable in the field. I train all my dogs to sit when I feed them as well and only allow them to eat their food on command. Unnecessary, but it makes the dog respect you and obey you which is what you are trying to achieve at the end of the day.

That's what I'm worried about, them getting Lepto as well would be a disaster.

All very true but sometimes when certain situations arise outside your control only a kick up the h**e can stop a situation getting worse:rolleyes:;)

PS: Works for certain types of people too;)

If the dogs are fully vaccinated. They will be protected against lepto.

Can't disagree with any of this. Have to control them from the off. If get the habit they are at present who's to say when they got out of the dog trailer they don't go running all over the roads in excitement..

Ps fully accepted you look after the dogs n all that deeks. Just need to think of how u can control your part in the situation for the good of you & your dogs ;)

My problem is the rubbish I'm always going to have problems with neighbours leaving bags out, even in this age of wheely bins. I think stopping them from eating the rubbish is the trick. I was hoping to achieve that by lacing some food with Tabasco and hopefully they'ld get the message

Why have you got to punish or harm your dogs because someone else has broken the law which for some reason you wont report? or do i misunderstand, bit confused here:confused:

Irrespective of wether your dogs are chewing up your neighbours rubbish. It is still a health hazard for you and them. You might be able to control your dogs, but you are not in control of the rats that are attracted to the rubbish, which no doubt will check out your property for a nice comfy abode. A polite and VERY firm word with the landlord to get this mess and his tenants in order sharpish, usually in writing with a time limit before the litter warden and health depts get involved is in order.

    deeks

U sound like ur in dispair so desperate calls call for desperate measures:Dso heres the plan...call the landlord aside and tell him/her that if they keep putting dirtbags in the house that if they ever decide too sell the house in the future that u will be sure too have rubbish strewn all over the place when people call too view it, and u might even have a scrapped caravan in ur garden and u might even have some horses grazing there too and make sure too point out that u will call all ur friends kids around too have them run riot ..just while people are viewing the house of coarse;)..this will get them thinkin the next time they put tennants in that they will deal with the litter problem..i had similar problems with a landlord a few doors down from me but i might not be as polite as u:D
