    hi Folks
Hoping someone can help/advise someone with Frank Spencer like DIY skills..

Just got a new hotpoint washer/dryer but waster pipe about 1ft too short to reach outlet.
Is there such a thing as an extension I can get?

Afraid if I get a new hose it'll leak. It's a grey felxible pipe (assume they are standard) with a narrower nossle on the end.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

If its too short, you can extend the waste outlet on the wall. Wouldn't be that difficult to do.

Are you using standard 1 1/2 white waste pipe for your outlet?

You can also get the 'grey' extension kits in any good DIY store.

Any decent DIY store will have a grey extension hose and plastic connector, that will extend the waste hose off the washing machine by another 4-5 feet.

Costs about 10 euro, and you just fit it to the existing washing machine hose and slot the other end into the main waste pipe that goes out through your kitchen wall.

BnQ,Woodies or any builders providers will have them for sale in the plumbing section.

    Job done and simples.:)

Just a simple time if you use the extension pipe it actually comes with a pce of tube to connect the 2 pipes together.

What i do having connected the 2 lgths of pipe is tape the 2 hoses together with insulation tape. The reason being over time the pipe can come free from the bracket through pulling the machine in and out or just from the heat of the water passsing through and weakening the hose.

If your dropping that hose into a long tube which is popular(washing machine upstand) i would seal the hose in the tube with a plastic bag. Even though smell should not develop they always seem to....
