god of war 3 r1 problem

hi, i got gow3 in argos (dropped from 65e to 18.49) was playing away and got to the first place where u grapple/swing over the cavern about ten mins into the game where the prompt for r1 appears, i press r1 and nothing happens, ive searched online and it seams many people have had this problem it got the latest patch version 1.03 and its still happening, im reely considering returning the game which is a shame as it looks great&i want to get stuck into it, anyone else have this problem? ive tried everything including delete save game data/ reassigned the controller to 2 and then back to 1 again which was suggested as a possible fix but still no joy

I remember having a similar problem, lot of people at the time told me i was mental But i was sure something was up.

Hmmm don't remember having a problem but if it's only 10 mins in i'll pop it in the machine later and see if i can help.

And OP you need to reassign your controller to get it to work.
When you get to that R1 grapple part, Hold down the PS button reassign it to a different number, the reassign it back to number 1 again.

yes im using an official ps controller...from what ive read this dosent happen on all ps3s but it is a problem, i bought my ps3 from argos and got the game from argos, got a 2nd replacement disk and that still didnt work, asked for a refund they said they could only give another replacement went to gamstop gow game still in foil got 25 in trade-in got dantes inferno and fifa south africa nice trade for a crappy game i only got to play for ten mins,... fk you santa monica studios you ****ed up on something this game looked great but u ****ed up on the controlls as i said ive a new ps3 2010 around the time gow was released got the patch also still didnt work

i did that and that still didnt work im not fkin breakin my controller there 45 quid when i press r1 i expect it to work dont want a cypher to try get it working sorry but gow pissed me of im enjoyin dantes and cant wait for DS2 Viceral are a V good game maker

Mine always worked perfectly. Sometimes hard to get the timing right, but the R1 worked just fine

have you any problems with the R1 button on other games, where you'd be using it alot? I had a problem a year ago with mine, took the controller apart and cleaned the button, all has been fine since
