    Very mixed feelings about this. I feel that season 5 has been too weak a season to have Dexter caught... the build up has not been epic enough.

    I think it's fair to say, though, that season 6 will be the last one. I just hope Lumen will not be in it, and I hope against hope that Dexter will be caught. If he's not caught, but is instead killed, maybe in a freak accident, then I can just imagine what the final scene will be: Debra has made arrangements to have his stuff removed from his apartment. She's sad, and the camera follows her drive from the station to his apartment, where a removal company has been busy boxing his things. The head guy talks to her and says, "oh, by the way, we found this", before handing her the wooden slide box. She opens it, sees the blood slides, and a look of horror and disbelief descends on her face. Roll credits.

    I'd much prefer it all to unravel for Dexter and this time he can't worm his way out of it. I want him to be done for Miguel's death, I want him to be identified as Kyle Butler and the Ice Truck Killer's brother, I want him to be pinned as the Butcher and Doakes exonerated.

    I think you have a better memory than the writers unfortunately. :pac:

    I'd be in the same boat as you Furet. I think Dexter needs to face Justice in the next season. I wouldn't mind him turning a bit psycho when the net starts closing in. Perhaps we might see a bit more of the psycho we saw in the second episode of this series when he smashed that hicks head in, in the bathroom.

    Maybe, a standoff, where Quinn or Batista, or maybe even Deb has to shoot him?

    This season has been infuriating. The writers have been throwing Dexter into all these scenarios where he's seconds from being caught, but every single time it's a cop out. All the promise shown in the first few episodes was never delivered upon.

    And I know the whole concept of the show is Dexter evading capture, but at least in previous seasons he had to work to get out of the jams, at the expense of those around him. This season is just 'lol he magically set up a crime scene, lol clumsy Dexter knocked over the dvds, lol he was in a different house'. Dexter should be on the run, Quinn shouldn't have been cast as the only remotely competent detective in the station. Oh wait then he conveniently fell for Debra so the producers could write in a guest star to do what the whole station should be doing.

    Feel cheated this season, I really do. Absolutely nothing of worth or progress has happened.

    never going to happen

    whatever the ending dexter will be the hero not the villian

    he wont get caught, at best it will just conclude on a hanger that lets people make up their own minds about how he is going to live his life(raise a family without killing, be a full fledged killer forever etc)

    at worst it will conclude telling us he has given up the killing and will live happily ever after with his family

    and at very worst lumen will be a part of that family

    Anyone else notice that Season 6 is being filmed in Los Angeles instead of Miami?

    I haven't watched episodes 9-12 yet, but it would imply I suppose that Dex is leaving Miami?!

    Cheaper to film there and source actors. CSI Miami is not Miami at all.

    All seasons were mostly filmed in LA.

    That is most interesting reading. Thanks for that Furet.

    Quality resource that. A few links to Google Streetview wouldn't go amiss though.

    Why should he get caught or murdered. I hope Lumen comes back and she helps him control his dark passenger. That would be a fitting ending to Dexter. Sounds like a lot of you like Furet want him to get caught why?? If you don't agree with the idea of the show don't bother watching it next Season.

    I do agree with the idea of the show. It's a great concept. I want him to get caught because it would be a great storyline. Everything else is just getting glaringly repetitive at this stage:

    * Dexter gets a killing partner (seasons 3 and 5)
    * Dexter finds a woman who doesn't mind that he's a killer (seasons 2 and 5)
    * Dexter keeps someone hostage in a cabin (seasons 2 and 5)
    * A cop becomes suspicious of Dexter (seasons 1, 2, and 5)
    * A cop gets suspended for looking into Dexter (seasons 2 and 5)
    * Crazy guy abducts woman, hears her screaming in the back of his car, opens boot and whacks her (seasons 1 and 5)
    * Dexter falsifies blood work/steals evidence (seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
    * Looks like Dexter's gonna get caught! (seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

    Lastly, him getting caught will tie together a huge number of loose ends. If those loose ends don't get tied up, then they are PLOT HOLES. Kyle Butler case in point. Quinn showing Jonah Mitchell Dexter's photo another case in point. The whole Quinn/Liddy thing yet another one. Etc.

    At this stage id accept any lame story - like that it's his twin brother, who is also a cop
    just transferred in from Chicago....

    Sergeant Jim Dokes is on the case!

    If Dexter doesn´t get caught in this season the total destruction of one of the greates series ever would be complete. Really loathed the ending of the last season :mad:

    Personally, I think its way too late for that. I once put Dexter up there with the some of the best series, but alas, no more. Season 3 was pretty poor, then the show redeemed itself to some extent in Season 4 (mainly due to Trinity). But Season 5 has just been a shocker. They way investigations just get thrown aside is beyond ridiculous.

    I mean, Trinity is still out there. He killed a cops wife and nobody seems to care.... not even Dexter (as far as others are concerned). It just doesn't make any sense.
    Okay, so the FBI is supposedly investigating, yet they haven't bothered to find out who kyle butler was :confused: One chat to the family and they'd have it figure out.
    And that's just one of many many many many plotholes....

    I really doubt it can redeem itself now, but the ONLY way it can do so is for everything to fall apart for Dexter. He can go down, while still being a bit of a hero.... but he needs to go down.

    Just finished watching the five seasons.
    S6 better make up for the last season. It'd be nice if he was to come to terms with his dark passenger and then be found out soon after.

    He better be found out at least, if only by Deb maybe. Either he tells Deb that Lumen was number 13 and she finds out the rest, or that he gets killed, there's a fire in his house and they find his tools and box in the AC. (can't think of any other scenario that they'd open up the AC).

    He used to do all this killing to get people that the cops just couldn't pin stuff on, when did he start misleading the cops off the trail so he could get them first? (I've watched so many recently it's all blurred into one)

    Huge Dexter fan and I did enjoy series 5 - granted, it wasn't one of the best.. however it was still enjoyable.

    HATE Lumen - do not want her back in series 6

    have rte any plans to air any of series?

    I'd assume Season 6 has already begun filming and as such will be aired next September sometime.

    As far as RTE go, they had a chance to air it while the show still held some substance. One broadcaster did show it for a couple of episodes of Series 1 but whether it was Tv3 or some English channel I can't remember.

    I tend to agree with everyone here when I say that I hope Dexter gets sent down in this one, he needs to be caught. He needs to be overwhelmed and left with nothing but Harrison (Harry Morgan leaves his side hopefully)...without Harry, Dexter is irrational and fearful that is why I hope Season 6 redeems the quality we loved in Season 1.

    With almost half of the seasons being absolutely terrible [Miguel Prado's (3) & Lumen's (5)] I really hope the new one throws something different at us. No more dirty/investigative cops, serial killer boyfriends.

    If Dexter season 6 could shock me like the finale of season 4 then it would put the show where I believe the books justify it in being. One of the greatest crime/thriller series in history.

    i agree theres alot of repition in dexter, but its not just about dexter killing people and getting caught. its a moral question- is he good or bad? do you think he should be punished or not?

    and even though the storylines dont really get better series to series i think the development of dexters character does as it gets more complex and interesting.

    i also have a thing for michael c. hall- this helps.

    As far I know, one of the guys in work read the books, he never does get caught but ends up guiding his son like Dexter's father did for him, turns out Dexter's son is a sociopath due to Rita's death

    I reckon Deb will find out Dexter's true identity sometime in Season 6 or the start of Season 7; it's really the only big storyline left. The "killer of the month" has run it's course, as has "dexter has an ally".

    Although S5 was my least favourite season and below the amazing average they usually have I thought it was still decent and got it's best ratings ever. Personally I don't know if Dexter can keep up the quality over 2 more seasons...., best to just have one killer season and end it on a high with Deb finding out, tracking him, going back and forth (joining/turning him in) and eventually killing him.

    She was already tracking him in S5 so why have another season of it? I agree she should find out about him but she should find out by catching him in the act and then wrestle with the dilemma of arresting a killer versus handing over her brother/last living family member, all the while learning how her father created him.

    Here's hoping Deb gets the bullet in season 6, seeing as herself and Michael C Hall are divorcing. Can't stand her, Moonface.

    Personally I think that Dexter firstly will reveal himself to Deb and then the story will go from there...
