Are mopeds allowed on motorways?

I have only driven once before, and am not sure clearly about the rules. Obviously qualified drivers in cars are, when I was younger my dad use to drive a motorbike on them, but I am not totally sure on mopeds.

I mean, they drive fine with traffic when in town, I see them all the time. I am not on motorways a lot, when I am on them I don't see motorbikes very often so that might have given me the reason to ask this question.

Not if it has less than a 50cc engine.

50cc and capable of over 50km/hr as Windsock posted, but I wouldn't go on a motorway unless I was capable of keeping up with the traffic and being stable at the same time.
The bigger mopeds could do it.
If you're looking to buy something for the task post on the motorbikes forum.

I wouldn't fancy doing say 60kph on a small bike, on a fast moving motorway.

I wouldn't be seen dead on any moped or scooter, motorway or not. :p

    ...my scooter (when it runs... ), has 'achieved' 158 km/h, solo, and 140 2-up.

    Works for me. :D

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Mopeds are easier to use in traffic and cheaper to run. If you were only one the motorway a very small percentage of time, why bother buying a bike.
they're pretty much the same in traffic as bikes and unless you have a 600 or bigger then bikes are just as economical and of course bikes are ten times cooler than mopeds.
