probably a lot of hassel geting parts. Im electrician and normally just put in a new one. Cant rem the price around €30 or €40. easy to change just switch off power at the fuse board or pull fuse out of the spur(looks like a switch with a light on it). small flathead screw driver and put back wires the same way as u disconnected them, not many 2 browns and 2 blues

You would probably need a bit more space at the side of the switches to site a digital timer, so it would depend if you had enough room on the wires to play with/pull out more.

Why not just change it like for like? If its the one I'm thinking of that has a clock turning with wee nicks that u push in/out for on/off then they are as good as any, some would say better because on digital timers you can only have on/off 3 times, but on those clocks you can have them on an off as much as you like.

Hi, I've an APD switch for OFCH. The on/off switch still works but the clock bit doesn't turn anymore. from reading the boards the general advise seems to be to change it for a digital one and Danfoss seem to be highly thought of.

I wondering if this is something i can tackle myself. At the minute on the wall I've the standard APD timer with the on/off/clock set up. Alongside that are two standard light switches, one that turns the ground floor rads on and off and the other that does the upstairs.

Any notions on the best way to go about that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Philip
