hi, just wondering if anyone could advise me, i got an ipod touch as a present in august and today the screen has gone blank and won't charge when i attach it to the usb port on a laptop (have tried more than one).
i am guessing my only option is to go to the apple store, i assume it would be covered by a warranty anyway? i have got the billing details which i can bring there with me.
it's scary how dependent you become on it after only a few months!

Does it charge or show anything if you connect it to the mains?

Have you tried pressing and holding the Power and Home buttons at the same time for approx 10 seconds, or until you can see the Apple logo?

If you purchased it in August and providing there hasn't been any signs of accidental damage to the device you should be covered by the warranty. JUst remember that you will need to make an appointment for the Genius Bar before you go in.

It may have been something preventing the iPod from either waking or powering on, or maybe even just a problem with the display. That reset seems to have kicked it back to life again.
