    Hey,

I'm due to graduate in 2011 with a level 8 degree from DCU.
The problem is I have lost all interest in my degree subject and am only finishing for the sake of having something to show after 4 years of hard work work.

Is it possible for me to do a PLC course in Ballyfermot next year?

It should be possible for you do do a PLC course, however, as you have already been funded at 3rd level you will probably not be eligible for free fees.

I'd suggest linking into some Guidance Counselling (if you haven't already), and they will help you explore all your options. It may be that there is a Post Grad course that covers the subject area that you are interested in. Also, check out courses on www.qualifax.ie

Good luck with whatever you decide

Yes, of course you can do a PLC course but as you hold a higher level degree - you won't be eligable for grants or BTEA

I finished my degree in 1995 and went straight into a PLC course. I also completed another FETAC Level 5 course in May of this year. Got no funding first time around for degree and as I was unemployed for 9 months prior to the FETAC course, I was eligible for BTEA.
I also applied through the CAO and got offered a 3 year degree in DKIT to start in September and got approved for BTEA again, but had to defer as I'm pregnant and the course is very physical and not suitable for pregnancy.
    So it can be done!

    Good luck

    Hi all
New to this so please excuse if i have done it wrong

I want to do a 1 year fetac level 5 course with a possible second year and need to know if i am entitled to BTEA or any form of funding. I am currently claiming jsb and about to be put on jsa. I would be entering the course as a mature student and I am currently living in my parents home and would continue to do so during the course. Any help will be much appreciated
