Not sure if this is the correct forum
MODS: feel free to move to correct place.

    My question is.
Someone is charged with a crime.
Gardai cease their passport and any other photo ID they have (Driving Licence etc.)
They must sign on at their local station twice a day.
Trial comes and there is a hung jury.
DPP decide (after a long time) to retry the case.
They still sign on twice a day after court case
When they set the date it will be 7 years from the date of the charge/crime.
Thats 7 years of not leaving the county or country.

Is this an infringement on a persons human rights?
    (btw it's not me)

    Any more info needed?

A person in such a position will likely have legal advisers in respect of the charge, a solicitor and usually one or two barristers. Such a person should contact such a solicitor with a view to seeing if such actions would cause such a breach of rights.
