Connolly Luas in the snow?

Does anyone know why the Connolly Luas stop seems to close every time we get heavy snow? Is it a fear that the points at the delta junction might freeze? The whole platform was cordoned off this morning when I went past.

Probably something to do with the canvas overhead

there's blocks of ice and snow falling off the canopy onto the platforms below...obviously a design flaw or oversight of the designers!!
