Is your Local Authority out gritting the roads?

Have you seen your LA out gritting or plowing the roads? It appears that there is not much action being taken in Wicklow at least. Roads are best avoided if at all possible.

Plenty of activity in South Tipp. We've got off lightly here so far weather-wise.

The roads were much better yesterday but are very dangerous today. Not sure if they have ran out of grit.

Kerry County Council are doing a great job. All primary and most of the secondary roads are done. The more used regional roads are gritted also. Even some of the more dangerous local roads are done. Pretty good job.

Waterford City Council are great in the morning's and evening but do tend to go missing mid day! Was fine until today where the snow has yet to stop!!
They're using alot of sand here instead of grit I think?!
Apparently we even got snow ploughs in Tramore! Who would have thought?!

The M1 between the tool booths and the second exit north after the Boyne bridge was absolutely horrible earlier. Only one lane was driveable and cars had to move at about 10mph because even that lane was like an ice rink. Disgraceful - grates even more because you've just spent €2 on that level of service too.

We seem to be in for a few cold winters. That being so, I think it's time the LAs started investing in a few snow ploughs to be honest. In Germany they even have mini ones for ploughing the snow off of footpaths. One per small town and two or three per large town would suffice.
