Problem with dishwasher...should I get hotpoint engineer?

Dishwasher < 5 years old so am covered for parts IF I pay for a Hotpoint engineer (€114 once off and then covered for 90days parts/labour if it breaks again)

Do ye think it would be worthwhile to get this rather than take a chance on a cheaper local guy and wind up paying for parts if they are needed....

I am not sure what is wrong. Sometimes the tablets don't melt/water does not always heat up it seems/dishes aren't fully cleaned and things are not rinsing properly.

Have checked the obvious things like the filter myself.

Engineer is probably a bit overkill, no?
A technician would surely be more appropriate. Probably better too for a simple repair job.

It was a simple question...why the need for being pedantic about the title of a repair guy? How do you know it's a simple repair job?

Just be wary of the engineer's.

I had major trouble with my washing machine.

I had three hot point engineer's out at various times.

One was good, the other two were utterly useless and managed to break the machine further and on one occasion cause it to start flooding the utility room.

HOT POINT ARE **** AND HAVE THE CRAPPIEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED AND FOR THE MOST PART, THE MOST INEPT ENGINEERS I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED.

If you can afford it, buy a new dishwasher, you'll save yourself a world of pain.
