How to help pheasants?

    Hi

just been watching one of several pheasants who frequent my garden, pecking around the frozen grass looking for lunch.

I'd like to help them, but obviously don't want to attract vermin.

Any ideas on what best to do?

    Thanks in advance

I know they like apples and cabbage,so if you put some of those out,it should be easy to spot once they've left so you could pick it up. Thats of course if they leave any :)
