    Hello all,

I am a recently single bloke, mid thirties and I am planning on taking a holiday in mid December (13th onwards). Any suggestions for 5 (or thereabouts) days of sun (normally care about culture & activities but this is purely about lying by a pool) not too far away and fairly cheap. I am OK with hostel/basic hotel accommodation; like I said the focus of this break is to lie by a pool and recharge. I have never been to any of the Costas of Fuertos but am now willing to give them a go. Not looking for a mad holiday either but something with a balance of sun and some decent nightlife.

I booked an impulse Ryanair flight to Alghero in Sardinina for 13th December but it looks cold and fairly dead so will probably give that a miss; cheap flights so no biggie.

I am not concerned about traveling on my own so not necessarily looking for a singles destination, just somewhere decent.

Any suggestions would be most welcome. Cheers,

somewhere like Fuerteventura in the canaries? it's not knackerville like the other islands - it's very nice actually. stay in corralejo, down by the old port town if possible (this place is good). since you're on your own it might be an idea to do something like a kitesurfing course (great sport). www.flagbeach.com are one provider. that way you might meet people and it would be more fun. sailing, quad biking (proper quad biking through volcano craters etc), mountain biking are other things to do there. Aer Lingus and Ryanair both fly there. Rent a cheap car at airport - well worth having it.

Morocco would be ok too, if you could get a flight handy.
