a relative of mine in the UK has asked if I can suggest a few cars for them to look at in New Year.

They said they were looking at Quashqai but when they said they also wanted 4wd I told them forget that idea.

Criteria: SUV/Estate as they have a border collie and want some boot space for it. 4WD cos it gets bad this time of year with snow in their area. Haven't really specified petrol or diesel so dont know yet. Silver
Comfortable for motorway driving and a bit of poke. 2litre is max but would probably prefer something smaller if possible. Budget 8k'ish GBP

Found them a nice Forester in their area for just over 8k.

    Anything else?

The Quashqai was and still is available in 4wd in UK spec 2.0 dci as far as I am aware.

I would second the Octavia scout,,hell of a lot of car for the money.

Audi Allroad or Volvo XC70? - basically estates with 4WD.
Why under 2.0? Makes little odds across the water I'd have thought. I don't think the UK get our 2.0T in the Swede - just the 2.4. So maybe diesels if they must stay under 2.0.

CR-V- bullet proof and they'd pick up a very clean one for that money. Possibly would get a diesel.

Legacy and Outback are also options, won't get diesel in those for that kind of money though.
