Travelling to Tipperary this weekend on Friday at lunchtime, which would be the better route to take in these conditions the Limerick route or the Athlone route?

    Thanks.

I should think the Limerick route, midlands around Athlone had some heavy snowfall and roads are in poor condition . Watch out for freezing rain potentially on Friday, will turn the roads literally into ice rinks if this happens (way worse than snow).

Road from Castlebar to Limerick is almost perfect. Mostly dry except for a section between Balla and Breaffy. Assuming the weather behaves, then the Limerick route is best.
