Just a reminder to any lads that have pheasant spring feeders on there grounds to keep them topped up with wheat, maize etc especially during the cold snap were experiencing at the moment.I drove up the fields on the quad tonight to check the amount of wheat in the barrels of the 4 feeders im running and it dropped a fair bit and judging by the amount of footprints in the snow around them there's an awful lot of birds using them as id say there the birds main source of food at the moment.
On Sunday when i was down there i seen 5 wild cocks and 3 hens at one of the feeders so there a good way of pulling in wild birds or birds that stray from nearby clubs as well as keeping released birds from wandering.
Shot 2 grey squirrels on sunday aswel with the hmr from the quad that were jumping up and hitting the springs to get at the wheat so they attract them to;)
