My feet are cracking up

Was out running in snow Saturday. The palms/ball of my foot is quite tough from running. Anyway the cold weather seems to have resulted in the tough skin cracking. It's incredibly painful when I walk on it. Just showed the mrs and she has applied some antiseptic powder. She's actually a little horrified at the state of the feet. Anybody experience anything similar. I reckon a good steeping in salty water is on the cards tomorrow.

Snap, my feet are usually battered to some degree, but after recent snow running, (previously blistered) skin is cracking up to a degree I've never experienced before. Soaking in warm salted water usually does the trick for me. A large compeed can work wonders too.

I get that every winter. I use my wife's "foot and heel cream" (no idea what exactly that is) which does improve things if I remember to put it on regularly.

warm salty water , followed by a proper drying , then talc them , sorts it out pretty quickly

Thanks lads sitting with my feet in salty water as we speak. Major dilemma. Remote is out of reach and that celebrity jungle ****e is on the box.

Thanks for these tips. I thought it was just me. I have cracks in the skin folds and hard skin at the backs of my heels. Now where's that Footspa?

I had a similar problem during the summer. I was on holiday in France and doing a fair amount of running each morning when I got some cracking in the hardskin around my heel which was quite painful. Each time I went for a run it reopened.

I ended up glueing the cracks together with superglue and it worked a treat (also the looks on my kid's faces when they watched me doing it was worth it as well). :D

I had no problems for the rest of the holiday.

I'm not sure it'd work if you have a lot of cracking, but for a couple of deep cracks it worked perfectly.

...surprised the mods haven't censored this "medical" advice.:D

I sufferd from this as well and it seems to affect me in the summer, especially if I wear flip flops. I have tried some foot cream from boots but it had limited success. Mostly I just grin and bear it.

Scholl do a Cracked Heel cream which is excellent for this.
