X-ray

I had an x-ray taken today by a chiropractor but he didn't cover my genital area even though he took an x-ray of my pelvis. I was told afterwards by a friend that you need to have your genitals covered everytime you have an x-ray. Does anybody know if this is the case?.

?? a chiropractor shouldn't be doing x-rays, you must be a member of the medical or dental council to prescribe an x-ray. Is this person also a medical doctor?

I can't answer your question regarding shielding as we can't give medical advice on this forum.

I assume if an x-ray was taken of your pelvis and it was covered with the lead shield then you wouldnt see anything. Just assuming

Lead protection isn't given for a Pelvis that is x-rayed for the first time, or in a trauma. Follow-up x-rays are given protection.
