From The Salthill Airshow, taken down in Shannon we were invited down to say goodbye to the Crew of this McGuire based C-141 Starlifter.

I'm nearly certain my dad was on the '61 for the first salthill airshow,i know he definitely did the compere at it for the s-61 display

I remember seeing the A-10 up-close for the first time in Baldonnel in the late 80's and getting to stick my fingers into the barrels,that thing is huge!

Who is your Dad? Perhaps I know him. We hung out with the Crews of almost everything before and after each Show.

LE Aisling from the stern bears a remarkable resemblance to the Royal Navy Flower class Corvette - same one in the 'Cruel Sea' ?

Great photos. I was also in Verolme on the day of Eithne's launch. The crane on her right was demolished a few weeks ago(in case it fell over) Where was the Pic of Aisling in drydock taken?

The stern of Aisling resembles a Flower Class as this was what the NS were used to when designing Deirdre. Cliona, Maev and Macha were all Ex RN flower class, and retired in or before 1970. The hull design was at the time considered the best to handle rough atlantic waters. NEVESBU took it and improved on it for the P20 class.
