I'm going to London for 3 nights in January. I'm looking for a nice hotel to stay in that isn't too expensive...max i can afford is €100 per night. Preferably somewhere central i.e close to Oxford St, Picadilly Circus etc...

Any recommendations would be great :)

This place is in a great location for shopping. Friends of mine stayed there and said it was grand. Very reasonable for central London. It's hard to find a good hotel for €100 per night but if you book this place a few weeks in advance, you'd get it for close enough to that.

This is where I stay, when I go. Handy if you get the train to Paddington from Heathrow. It's very easy to get around in London on the tube, so I don't think location is really that important. I'd say it would only take about 15-20 mins to get to Oxford Circus from that hotel.

There's a London thread at the top of the main page & probably other threads too, if you do a search, you'll finds loads of suggestions.
If price is most important look at the chains like Premier Inn, Travelodge etc..

a group of us stayed here on our recent trip to London:

I think it was £80 per night for a lovely, clean, big double room.
It's located beside St James Park Tube so you can get to piccadilly and oxford circus in a couple of minutes. Also a 5 minute walk from Victoria Station. if you are flying into Gatwick.

Westminster, Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace all close by and New Scotland Yard is across the road for extra safety at night!!

Well searched a lot for some cheap place along with discounts. Found many hotel offering good discounts and a pretty good to stay. You can view the list at http://www.hoteldirect.co.uk/cheap-hotels-in-london.htm . The entire hotels listed here lie in your budget so select the one which suits you location as well as price wise. As far as transportation is concerned you don’t need to worry as public transport is great in whole of London.
