My hawke 3-9x40 hd scope fogs up inside the lense in cold weather. Is it just a bad scope lads?

could be that the gas used to keep moisture out doesn't have a very low condensation point

The nitrogen gas inside the tube that stops the inside fogging up must be lost. It's an inert gas so it can't contain any water vapour.

It fogs up badly after I bring it inside the house. And even when I wipe the lense its still foggy so its condensation inside the scope. Its not good glass I suppose, after been ripped off for €120 for it off a certain dealer in the athlone area:eek:

Just to add Hawke have a good enough name for scopes.

BRING it back and say what it's doing. If the dealer is any good he will replace it for you, EVEN if it's out of warrentyor at least get it sent off for repair. Check out Hawkes website for warrenty returns HERE
