Looking to buy a Boss GT PRO with a footcontroller FC300.

I currently have a Boss ME-70 and various different pedals through a fender stage Amp. I use alot of different sounds and like to create different sounds using various effects.

However the GT PRO + foot controller is exspensive. Has anyone out there used the GT pro? Or can anyone suggest an alternative?

I have used the GT 8 and GT 10 which were both very good but the rack seems to give alot more options???

Any feedback would be great before I buy.......

    Thanks,
    CVK

I've a GT-Pro, it's a great bit of kit, and especially since you can get software which will convert the thousands of user made GT8 patches out there for it.

The mistake you're making is thinking the Boss Footboard is the way to go. I'm using a Behringer FCB-1010, possibly the only decent bit of kit Behringer has ever made. Built like a tank, 2 expression pedals, 10 preset pedals, amp switching, it's all there. As soon as you get one, modify it to run on phantom power, and then go buy the UnO firmware chip which will allow it to do a lot more than it comes with as standard.

You end up with a serious setup that can pretty much do any sound at all.

Thanks for that Paont doctor..the more information I get the better. A few people have said the FCB 1010 is very good..I'll defo look at that..Can you explain Phantom power?

    Thanks again..

Sure! I'm actually going to post photos later on of my modded FCB-1010, just finished painting it black. Have it 8 years now, and its been pounded to death and back, so it looks mint again, like it just came from the factory, also recalibrated the optical sensors inside for the expression pedals, upgraded the firmware, and did the phantom power mod.

Phantom power means that instead of having 2 cables running to the unit, one for MIDI, and one for Power, you use one cable with power and data running through it. Even though a MIDI cable has 5 wires, the FCB-1010 only uses 3. You can send 9v AC down the other pair to power the board so all you have to do is plug in the one wire, and as MIDI cables are long, you don't have to worry about having to run a huge long power cable to the board too.

No problem, there was a guy in Cork selling one on Adverts but nobody bought it. His username was Clockworks - might be no harm to bung him a PM to see if he still has it, but it was about a year ago. I was going to buy it as a backup for mine.
