They have no problem finding each other on file share, but i have no clue what i'm doing:confused::confused: i tried overriding the ip like on the support but that didnt work
My laptop is running the war cheifs version and the other one is running the original..

This is general LAN connectivity testings, its doesnt relate particularly to AoE3 but the principal is the same.

    To begin with.
Switch off the firewall on each PC / Laptop
    Test

Second find out what IP addess you each have.

Start, Run, Type "CMD", a black screen should appear. In the black screen (or command prompt) type the following "ipconfig /all"
Do this on both computers and write down\screenshot\copy the information.
About half way down it should say IP Address "x.x.x.x"

Now when you are trying to connect to your sisters PC, put in her IP address when you look for games.
    Test

If you could do that and report back on your results, im pretty sure we can find this easily enough

Thanks for your help, the two laptops can find each other on the LAN screen,
but now beside the game name it says "CRC Mismatch" i don't have any idea what it means:confused:

Sorry forgot about this thread, did you get it working in the end?

CRC Mismatch could be a bad disc, are you using a DVD or Image? If DVD, then make images and use them instead.

Also make sure Games are fully patched and on the exact same version

CRC mismatch is definitely a version issue. Go to the tools and options menu for each game and click on download latest patch.
