    Do I need the original to play the zombie version?

    Yeah, it's an add-on for the original. You can either download it through the Playstation Store or XBox Live Marketplace, or I think you may be able to buy it on disk in gamestores now (though you still have to buy the original seperately).

    Actually, as far as I know, if you buy the disk version, you don't need the original.
    Please Note: Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare is a standalone expansion, the original Red Dead Redemption not required to play

    But obviously you need the original disk to play the original game.

    The Disk version is standalone and doesn't require the original game, the main game is only required if you buy the digital DLC on Live etc.
