Hot Pursuit is a Criterion game through and through
GTA5 is a while off yet, so you might as well buy that to tide you over!;)

If thats the case then why did need for speed get better reviews on IGN and gamespot?

Perhaps he means GT5, Hot Pursuit is brilliant by the way, just like burnout was. It doesn't matter if EA's logo is on it, Criterion made it.

Hot Pursuit is brilliant. Online works great and the Autolog is very nice. Plus it has M.I.A Born Free on the soundtrack, such a great song.

99% of EA games being sh!t, eh doubt it. Maybe a few years ago, times have changed though.

Besides they both have cars theyre completely different games and both brilliant.
Hot Pursuit is balls to the wall arcade fun with turbos out the yaya.
GT5 is as close to a racing simulator youll get on a console with seriously having to think about how you race.
Theres neither really better then the other cause they cant be compared

I'd say you'd have to think more how you race in Hot Pursuit. When to use turbos and your weapons they can turn the whole tide of a race in the last bend.

Oh, and everything can be compared, within reason obviously, but 2 racing games, of course. The only difference is ones sim and ones arcade.

Whaa??? So you haven't played the Battlefield games, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Dead Space, FIFA, Burnout *trails off as the list gets longer and longer....*

Anywho, i've only played the NFS demo, but i freakin loved it, will be picking it up over Xmas sometime myself.

Played the hot pursuit demo, thought it was ****e. Prob would have enjoyed it more if it was an online demo though.

Not much into arcade racers tbh.

I am loving GT5 however , and you get so much game for your money with that compared to other racing games I've played anyway.

I dunno I think someone had a point when they said you can't really compare. They're both going for different things, its like comparing a flight combat sim to Ace Combat or BF2 to ArmA.

They're both going for different experiences, so its all about the experience your after tbh.

Its more fair to compare GT5 V forza and hot pursuit v burnout or something.
Whaa??? So you haven't played the Battlefield games, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, etc etc

Dice and Bioware, great companies. :D

GT5 has any song you have. Even ones for running over Ginger kids. ;)

Personally I'd plum for NFS except for one glaring omission on their part, no two player split screen. While there is online play its not the same as ramming your friend off the road while they are in the room with you.
Burnout Takedown is still a regular at my gaff because of the great racing and the satisfaction you get by rubbing your mates face in it when you get an epic takedown:D

need for speed was fun, i still remember playing the original and the first city roamer. but i wouldnt compare that to burnout, let alone GT. youre talking about very different flavors of driving games

    That's total bollocks.

One is an arcade racer, the other a driving simulation game.....its a bit like comparing Tie fighter to Microsoft flight sim!!!.

The one that is better is the game that suits your style better. Personally I am an arcade racer, wherease my friend prefers driving simulators.

IGN's review, in all honesty, the reviewers of recent (years) seems loves the 'fast food' games.

GT5 is not really a game, technically, it is a driving simulation :pac: if you are no way near a serious car lovers/racing gamer, get NFS for your own good i suppose.

Ive found that GRID combines both simulation and arcade style to great effect.

Grid was/is great, severely under appreciated game.
