My mk4, a bit to go before it has its classic status, but any more snow on the roof and side windows and and I might just be able to pass it as a commercial.

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Isn't there a load of salt in the road now there've got gritting trucks out every night? And we all know how bad that is for steel.

none of mine coming out for that reason...I did take the taunus out last year in an emergency (or so my wife claimed it to be....) but I span it and narrowly missd an oncoming car, so wont risk that again even if she HAS got a hair appointment...

I'd be afraid to take any of my tinny japs out, I'd have no floor left by the time I got to town! :D:P

Under this is an '84 Mercedes 190E, honestly. And this was after I'd brushed 10 inches of snow off the night before! Went out to start it today after 2 weeks buried under the snow and it started first time, not bad for a 26 year old car considering the amount of much more modern stuff that I've heard of failing to start over the last week or so.

    From Seattle...

We, too have had completely unexpected unseasonal snow, the city was paralysed for about a week. All gone now though.

I kept the 944 on the road though when all the vehicles around me were fwd or 4x4's.

These days it's just frost in the morning, but we'll see come thursday :) And no, I can't use the garage. The guy who build it measured it using 2 classic mini's... at the most.

Heh. Check the date of that post. That was on the 20th. The other post is from yesterday. Don't think a lot people will actually know what it is under the snow, unless they took a particular interest in those cars.
