    Hi there

    Im looking for some advice

    My car's a 96 1.8 celica

When i'm driving at normal speed and i change gears (any gear) upwards it takes a while for the car to start speeding up

The timing belt hasn't been replaced yet could this be a sign of it going? or is there anything else that jumps out?

    Thanks for the help

Sounds like the clutch is slipping.

Throttle body may need a clean. This won't cost you anything to do yourself and should be done occasionally anyway.
Read this (note that that particular body was extremely dirty).

thanks a mill, the clutch hasn't been done either and i was told a while ago that it would need doing soon so i'd say that's probably it. I'll clean the throttle too.
