We've had complaints about the standards of RTE's online News in the past - both in terms of news content and basic spelling/grammar.

Here's another example - wtf is this story supposed to be about?

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/1129/prison.html
Prison chaplains have described the prison policy as a disaster for both prisoners and society.
The chaplains say that the political will is the only obstacle to making the prisons safer and drug free.
The comments were made in the annual report of the Irish Prison Chaplains.
The prison chaplains have said that the criminal justice system has become more and more politicised.
That's the whole story. What freaking policy is 'a disaster'? There's only a single policy covering the whole of the prison service in Ireland? What is it - no TV after 9pm? Is that 'the prison policy'? Or is it 'no desert unless you eat all your peas'?

Considering the money that they get paid and the cost of the licence fee, I'm pretty fed up the crappy standards these guys have. There must be intelligent, literate people queueing up to get into RTE News (I would have done it a decade ago) and somehow barely literate folk seem to be doing the work.

OP, your thread is better suited to R&R, or the Television Forum tbh.

R&R would be right up your street imo, just ask dr.bollocko for access.
