    Hi boards,

I have a 2005 golf 1.9 diesel 110 and am very happy with it. I have it now for over 6 months and lately I noticed that when the car is warm it takes forever to fire.. im easily canking for the best part of 10 seconds nefor it starts and when its cold it starts instantly. It was supposedly serviced before i bought it and the guy seemed genuine enough.. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Sounds like the injectors, had the same problem myself. Not cheap I'm afraid cost me over 500 quid to get just two done.

Sounds like it may be the coolant temperature sensor as the exact same thing happened to my Mark 4 golf tdi. If it is the sensor, the 2 ways of fixing it are either replacing the temperature sensor or else doing a butcher job by fitting a 2ohm resister to the sensor, i did the latter and it worked but i wouldn't recommend the 2nd option unless you know what your doing. Coolant temperature Sensors aren't very expensive and are very easy to fit. Its used to be quite a common problem on the earlier TDI's but not sure if it was still an issue on the later TDI's like yours.

as above try a coolant temp sensor before you do anything else. only about 30 quid for one from a dealers.. not hard to fit either
