Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but I just got a samsung le37c550. It has a Common Interface slot and the manual mentions getting paid channel using it.
I'm on UPC's basic digital package and have a pace dc221 stb, so I was wonderring if I could take the card from it and use the TV without the stb?

You need the STB is the short answer.

If you wanted to use the TV, you'd need a NagraVision CAM to go into the CI module, and then you'd insert the card into the CAM.

UPC won't supply you with such a CAM. They insist you use only their equipment for receiving service.

I tried it anyway and yes, it was apparent the card itself was too small.
