upgrading from sky to sky+ overseas

    Hi All.

I have a friend who used to live in Ireland, but moved to Denmark earlier this year.He has brought his normal sky box and subsciption with him.Now he would like to upgrade to sky+ ,but get his friend to do the install for him.Now am I right in saying that sky normally carry out the upgrade themselves as there is the need for 2 lnbs to be connected.Problem here is that although he still uses an Irish address there is no physical house in Ireland for them to install it in.So ideally what he would like is to upgrade his subscription and get the new box etc.. from sky and install it himself.Anyone know what the best way to go about this would be.

    1. I could maybe call a local sky installer and explain all this to them and hope that they would take care of the subsciption and just give me the box etc.. to pass on to my friend and he can look after the install.

    2. Buy the box etc.. from another source , install it and then ring sky and explain that he has bought a second hand sky+ box and would like to upgrade.although I did read on another website that they are not so happy to do this, not sure if that is the case or not.

Hope you guys can advise on the best route to take in this situation

Also it is just a standard sky + upgrade he is after and not sky+ hd.

    Many Thanks.
