Android data off and icon

    Hi I just got an Desire so need some help. I got my contract changed to a smart plan but this wont kick in until dec 10th so until then I dont want any data connection or any apps synching in the background.
    I have now used the mobile widget does this turn off all data? I have also gone to settings > Account and Sync and unchecked background data and auto sync. Also I see in manage accounts a refresh icon but its greyed out does this mean they wont sync? Is this enough? I also have an icon on top right of phone a triangle with ! in it what is this and how do I get rid of it?

    i'd just delete the apns or use apndroid to disable them.

    Hi also I am looking for the ip(mac address) for the wireless at home but in about phone> hardware it says the ip address is not available? How do I get this?

    Cheers for your help Random ill give APNdroid a go so. I did a factory reset and that brought the ip address back for me anyway!Anyone know about the icon im seeing?

    the triangle with the ! usually means there's a notification there for you. do you have anything in the notifications bar?

    Ya you were right cheers, I cleared the notification bar now so that was the icon about sim changed.
