vehicle operated by the DF during 1980s.

Does anyone remember an artillery towing vehicle operated by the defences forces in the 1980s. It was a Toyota but not a land cruiser. It was bigger and at one stage was used to tow L70s or L60s I think. Any one have a memory of its name or a photo?

You sure it wasn't the ACMAT VLRA? They looked kindof like big Toyotas.

ur right.dont know why i thought it was a Toyota. Here is one for sale. Do you know were they a good vehicle? Are they still in service.

Yes, it's another ACMAT.

Here's another..



Just a little info on the ACMAT in UN colours.

The Irish Defence Forces used the ACMAT in Somalia with UNOSOM.

So far as I know it was the only time we took it oversea's.

Irish Army Have 60 G-Wagon troop transport vehicles.

EDIT: actually looking around the web I can't find a single pic,did we ever really operate these?

The Defence Forces had just two G-Wagens and both were Ambulances and sold at Wilson's Auctions back in 2004.
