Anglo brand to disappear, deposits to move

The Central Bank has said that the brand name of Anglo Irish Bank is expected to disappear in the coming weeks and its deposits will be moved to a separate entity.
However, its loan book will be wound down over a number of years.
In a statement, the bank said Anglo's depositors will remain fully covered by the deposit guarantee.

could this not have just been done two years ago, and saved us throwing good money after bad?

Well they are just waiting to close it down and hope that everyone forgets about all the crimes committed within its doors.

Garda investigation will probably be shut down as there will be no point as far as they are concerned if the bank no longer exists.

The acceleration of its wind down is a part of the IMF deal.

Of all of the things that are vote changers in this election, I do not think that the presence of the Anglo logo (or not) on Stephen's Green is doing to be one of them.
