any good recommendations for a christmas present of a box set? the person's its for has seen the greats such as the wire, sporanos, deadwood, oz, arrested development, mad men i was wondering if anything has come out recently that's worth picking up?

there is only one season but it can hold its head high due to its well contained story arc

Breaking Bad definitely. Couldn't recommend Sons of Anarchy though, towards the end of season 2 it starts going downhill and I gave up shortly into season 3.

Breaking Bad is pretty great. The first two seasons of it are anyway.
3 is a bit of a drop in form but that's not even out yet on DVD so I suppose it's besides the point.

Much better than AMC's big money-maker, MadMen.

have to say The Shield gets my vote too. My fav tv series of all time. But a word of warning...its very violent

IT-Crowd is good, and Fr Ted box set is very nicely done even if you have watched them all.

Absolutely agree with this. Both fantastic shows. Only 2 seasons of each have been released too, so they could watch both over the Christmas holidays. And that's a good Christmas Holiday!

I believe the Complete Sopranos Collection is €68 in HMV.

They also have the Complete Battlestar Galatica for €50, which I believe is a good series.

i have already told people what boxsets to get me for crimbo, so im getting The West Wing, The Sopranos, The Wire, and OZ, ive seen the first 3 and had to borrow them off the buddies, so said id get my own set, so i sussed the prices and whatnot, total came to E220 for the 4 sets, and off they went to buy them,

now i see the BSG is 50 smackers in HMV, also im sussing out Babylon 5 the complete collection, saw cool looking boxsets on amazon.de
