LEAKING CHIMNEY

    hi all. i have a problem with my chimney in my conservatory it is leaking water in and it is running down on to the stove,i have placed a cap on the top of the chimney already but to no aveil.any advice would be greatly appriecated as its making a mess of the chimney breast and stove.thank you.:confused:

    I finished recently enough an large extension here and encountered a similar problem. Large ope for the stove was saturated, with the water running down the brest.
    What solved it for me was to get up on the roof and repoint the mix around the flue. Block layer had not done a complete job there:rolleyes: so just graded it a bit more. Also make sure that where the chimney is rendered that the render covers the corner beading correctly. This also was a small part that I had to fix and the issue was resolved.

    thanks rayjdave. will try that. my house is built of bradstone just wonndering would the water be getting through the stone.ALSO wondering do all solid feul stoves need a flexable flu or can you just put the stove flu up the chimney
