    I know it is personal preference butm what temeprature do poeple set their room thermostats for when running underfloor heating.

    I have mine set to 20oC but I am wondering what the average is. My girlfriend says 20 is normal so I would like to know if it is an average figure.

    We use night rate elec to try and keep the running costs down.

    Our therms are all set as follows;

    Winter

    0700-2300 @ 18 deg
    2300-0700 @ 21 deg

    This means that from 2300 to 0700 the rooms will call for heat and the pump runs through the night and is idle most of the day when elec is expensive.

    Rooms are normally about 20.5 deg in the morning and will fall through the day to get to about 19.5 in late evening (2100) .. average 20 deg

    We used this as our base setting and then watched how the various rooms perform.

    Where a room appeared to warm, we dropped both settings by .5 deg for a week and monitored, then adjusted again until we were happy.

    In the summer we drop alot of the rooms by 1 deg for both day and night settings, as the rooms were too warm in the morning.

    Hope that helps.
