iPhone 4 warrenty question

    As the title says,

    my iPhone 4 sleep power button only works sometimes.

    I think the spring inside has failed? Anyway if I send the phone back to apple will they update my phone to 4.2? I'm jailbroke on 4.1 if I save my shsh via tiny umbrella can I just go back to 4.1 and re jailbreak?

    you have to update it before apple wil take it back but yes as long as your shsh is saved u should be able to restore to 4.1 but your baseband is unreversible

    No I need to stay on the 1.59.00 base band to unlock the phone.I might wait till the end of the week so, see does the 4.2 jailbreak comes out.if u bring the phone back to vf will they fix it or send it back to apple to get fixed?

    Apple will probably replace it, rather than repair it.

    unfortunately though, apple will most likely replace your iPhone. It's not the end of the world, you can still have a jailbreak on 4.2.1, but just not untethered.

    Yet , they are working on making it untethered.

    Why wait for the untethered jailbreak? That makes no difference when it comes to the unlock

    So jak what your saying is get a new phone off apple just jailbreak it with green poison etc then unlock it?

    Will apple just give me an unlocked phone?

    The replacement they give you will maintain the lock you have at the moment. I.e. If your locked to vodafone at the mo the replacement will be locked to voda etc. If it's unlocked the replacement will be too.

    The replacement will most likely have 4.2 installed which will have the updated baseband so if it is locked your screwed unfortunately
